Your website
is a unique and personal window to your business, company,
product or service. Your only limitation is your imagination -
and your budget, of course.
Suppose you have a Bed & Breakfast. A website is an ideal
opportunity to showcase your facilities with photographs. You
no longer need to send an expensive brochure (which wouldn't
reach the customer for days). Or, say you're a winery. Imagine
your entire releases, reviews and cellar notes available day
and night. Not to mention being able to sell your wines
directly from your website. Real estate agent? Wouldn't photos
of your properties allow you and your clients to make better
use of your time? Restaurant? A website is cheaper and easier
to update (and better presented) than printing those flyers
that often end up in the trash. Clothing boutique? You could
feature specials and sales as often as you wished. Pet shop?
Aside from photos, you could display advice about feeding,
training and caring for pets - plus you could sell pet
supplies online. A non-profit organization? What better way to
build and maintain your community - publish your newsletters
online, service an email list or feature a bulletin board to
educate people and stimulate interest in your cause.
Employment service? A website is a great way to not only post
your current openings, but to accept resumes in a preset form
for consistency and convenience. An accountant or financial
planner? You can prepare your clients with the information
that they need to provide you, saving you both time and money.
Have you ever had a prospective client or customer leave your
office, store, shop or workroom, and thought, "If I'd only
been able to show him X, or offer her Y, we might have done
business"? Your website gives you the opportunity to provide
as much information as you wish. There's an old sales axiom,
"The more you tell, the more you sell".
